PET SHOP BOYS TO SUPPORT TAKE THAT ON TOUR

I’ve got great news for Pet Shop Boys (
Neil Tennant & Chris Lowe) fans in the UK! The duo will open for Take That on their sell-out UK summer Tour.
“I’ve followed their whole career and always loved their unique approach to records and live performance. That combined with two lovely people means we’re in for a great tour,” Take That member Robbie Williams explained. “I’m a huge Pet Shop Boys fan so for me it will be an absolute joy to be able to watch them every night.”

Pet Shop Boys are equally excited about the tour. The pop duo, who are marking their 30th year in the business this year,  released a statement saying: “We are delighted to accept Take That’s invitation to be part of their Progress show and tour which is undoubtedly going to be one of the most exciting events of 2011. We look forward to every night being a huge celebration of pop music.”
According to the Pet Shop Boys, they will play a 40 minute set that will include highlights of their recent Pandemonium tour, which was designed by Es Devlin. It’s going to be an amazing show for those lucky enough to attend!
Although Pet Shop Boys worked with Robbie Williams in the late 90s, my favorite collaboration came in 2006, when the Pet Shop Boys worked with him on his album Rudebox. They produced two tracks: a cover version of “We’re the Pet Shop Boys”, written by My Robot Friend (which they have also recorded themselves and released as a B-side to “Miracles”, in 2003) and “She’s Madonna”.
